Five free tools help you become a better blogger

Reading Time: 1 minute

Do you want to create a blog, but don’t know where to begin? Here’s a list of my favourite free tools to help you get started:

Free images
There’s a host of websites that offer royalty-free images, so you don’t have to feel pressured to take the perfect image for every post you create. You’ll find a variety of images you can use on your blog, here:

Graphics and logos
If you find Photoshop difficult to use, or you can’t afford the expense, you can create logos and graphics that give the same effect for free. Bring your brand to life with personalised artwork, here:

Canva

Picmonkey

Pixlr

Social Media
You’ve written the perfect post, now it’s time to publish it. Social media scheduling tools are a great way of future-posting your content, saving you time and the effort of manually publishing every blog post you create.

Tweetdeck

Hootsuite

Keep your URLs short
Keep your character count for your content. Bitly is a great free tool, and social-media friendly, that you can use to share your posts on social media. It will reduce a link from this: https://herinsight.com/2019/03/14/blogging_tools/ to this: http://bit.ly/2VN4zzw, what’s not to love?!

Consistent content
When you first start out, posting regular content is key to building a following. Make sure you don’t hit a content lull by having a steady stream of regular posts. I find Hubspot’s Blog Ideas Generator a great source of inspiration.
